Time goes rapidly. Relationship gets closer. More friends and experiences are achieved significantly after the first three weeks. Unconsciously, we phase already the first quarter of the program. It triggers us to know one another more intensively. Not to mention, sharing the personality and habits are discussed within our interaction. We feel as if we were a family.
In the second week rudimentary, we did the selection to lead us-so called as ”pak lurah and bu lurah”. It was at Monday night where we assembled for the first time to introduce and do a part of democracy-choosing the leader. From 60 expected students, there were solely 55 of them attending the forum. Hence, the four best candidates came up after a though voting in the first round. For the only one leader, the election was held again to re-vote. There would be only one leader representing boys and one for girls.
To make it unique and memorable, we did a slightly unusual vote. The four candidates were subjected to stand to different side of the members. We were sitting in circle actually, afterwards, those persons were asked to face to the northern side. After all, they are not allowed to turn their face no matter happened. On the other hand, those who intended to vote could merely stand behind them. The more participants stood behind the candidate, the better the vote would be. It meant that he would be the winner of this mini-democracy like candidacy whenever more people were there right behind him. At least we practiced a democratic article to uphold the right to vote and be voted (laugh).
In the end of the world, the leader was eventually elected. It was Dirga Maulana and Fitriasari N Y who were given the liability to serve as our father and mother. More importantly, both of them would play a salient role in ruling the non-classroom activity mainly-but not limited to minor academic activity, and social relationship to create harmony among us as well. Chayyo and ganbatte!
